  • Myspace Premieres Dara's New Video For "Wanted"

Dara debuted the music video for her new single, “Wanted,” today on Myspace! Directed by Heidi Groff and shot for two days on the small Mexican island of Isla Mujeres, the video showcases Dara touring the streets of the city and spending time with the local children.

“This [song] is the heartbeat of the record,” says Dara. “The universal need is to speak to the child in all of us and to hear somebody say that you're wanted, and you're cherished and that you belong somewhere. This song came toward the very end of this process, and it was such a gift. To not be wanted based on your performance -- I'm sure everybody has those friendships in their life where you're loved based on how good of a friend you are, or how good of a daughter or son. This song is calling out to the outcast and saying, ‘You've never gone too far -- in your furthest moment, in your loneliest moment, you were still wanted, the same as this person that's never lied, never messed up, never did anything wrong. This baby that's been born into the world and this hardened criminal, does God want one more or less? We're wanted.’ The Bible says that we love Him because He first loved us, and this song is about God our Father's eternal pursuit of us. And actually believing what He says: that we're wanted.”
