I Hope To Be Like Her One Day...

My mother is a pillar of strength, a virtuous women, a free spirit and still a 70's girl at heart.

My mom is my biggest cheerleader. When she was my age she was traveling and singing with bands and 8 piece show groups, that had horn sections and the whole 9. In the days when everything was a song and dance, she would be the blonde in Cher like costume get ups and as the front man, would cover songs like "Ain't No mountain High Enough", "Baby Love", "I Feel The Earth Move", "Love To Love You Baby", you know, the good stuff!!! I would pay money to go back in time and see my Mom do her thing... Fast forward a bit and after my parents met and got married in the 70's, they got radically born again and surrendered their lives to doing ministry and have been ever since...

Then along came me, who is the bi product of all of those things, the love of my family, music, that era and mindset of ministry as a lifestyle. It was such a God set up. The story is so much more extensive then this, but we will save that for a later time. What I want to focus on solely, is my Mother . She was then what I am now, only she turned her passion and dreams of music and ministry that she did very successfully, around in my direction, when she discovered her little blonde equally had the music bug. More importantly, she saw the gift and wanted to protect it, help create it, give any means possible to mold it and help me believe it could flourish, even against seemingly impossible odds. Her dream, became making mine come to pass. This is a kind of love and selflessness that I almost don't understand because it's so uncommon.

Mom, I want you to know that I see it, now more than I ever have. The sacrifice, years of tears and prayers, hurting for and trying to help your baby girl, do not and never will go unnoticed. Thank you. Thank you for being such a strong women, with such a soft heart. Thank you for teaching me how to love recklessly and never settle for less then the whole dream. Thank you for laying your life down daily for me in prayer and paving the way for me to do everything in my heart. Every accomplishment, victory, dream walked in and goal reached, is something that I can accredit to you. Our dreams our interchangeable and with you, Dad and my family as a whole, we are getting to walk in these things together, in awe and amazement of our heavenly Father who fulfills the impossible things He places in our hearts, all for the sake of the Kingdom and because He just loves us that much. So here's to all the years to come of prayers answered and all of our hearts dreams walked in...

Thank you for the women you are and for making me the women I am today.

Love your mini me,
-D-
